Yet Another Success Story From Mr. Marina
It is time to talk about my friend Brianna Haag's male beauty pageant success: Mr. Marina. Brianna started Mr. Marina competition in 2012 to benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It was a part of her fundraising efforts for the Women of The Year competition, a competition created by LLS for nominees to raise funds for blood cancer research. She actually became the Woman of the Year in 2012.
Given the big success of the first event, Mr. Marina turned into an annual competition to keep raising money to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Approximately $873,000 was raised with this male pageant show and total of $1 Million Dollars raised by Brianna for this amazing cause.
Mr. Marina 2017 just took place on May 17th, at the Palace of Fine Arts Theater. The contestants raised about $170,000, and JP Carroll won the title of Mr. Marina 2017! Well congrats once again Brianna and all of the contestants.
If you missed it, here is a recap video for this year, enjoy!
Well, what can I say... I am proud that Brianna and all of the contestants put time, money and a lot of efforts to this event. They do it without expecting anything to get in return. They all come together for the common hope to cure cancer one day. It deserves nothing but respect.
I am looking forward to more success stories from Brianna. If you missed the event, you can learn more about Mr. Marina on the official website, Facebook page and Twitter. Maybe you would consider to apply to be one of the next contestants!
